So, big changes coming for Genshin Impact. Imagine this – starting next month, some old devices are basically waving goodbye to the game. Real bummer if you’re still on a PlayStation 4 because, surprise, surprise, it’s gonna be unsupported. Downloading? Not gonna happen anymore.
Caught wind of this earlier in the week. The devs are cranking up the requirements – gotta keep the game slick, I guess.
Anyway, back to PS4 — MiHoYo, or HoYoverse or whatever they’re calling themselves these days, pointed fingers at “hardware performance limits.” So, they’re pulling the plug but don’t freak—PS5’s off the hook.
Phase out time! It’s all happening in stages. First, they’re yanking it off the PlayStation Store on September 10. Own it already? You’re safe. Redownload any time from your library.
Then, a twist—February 25, 2026, rolls around, poof! No more buying stuff in-game or on the Store. Not even top-ups. Meh. But till then, you can still grab things you bought from the Store inside the game.
The curtain call hits August 4, 2026. That’s the day PS4 says goodbye to Genshin Impact. Log in after that? No dice. Patches? Support? All vanished like a bad dream at sunrise.
On a separate note, surprise! Specs for PC and mobile are going up too. If you’re still rocking an ancient device, it might still run but, well, expect issues. Odd hiccups and all—things just won’t stay smooth. They’re not building for old specs anymore.
So yeah, might want to check the latest requirements. They’re not crazy high, but definitely something to keep in mind.
Last I checked, Genshin Impact’s 5.8 update dropped. It’s got Ineffa with some new banner events, and hey, Citlali and Mualani are back in town. Diving back in? Do check out our Ineffa build guide and team ideas. Oh, and we freshened up the Genshin Impact codes page — absolutely useful.
