Scrambled Thoughts on Skyblivion and Oblivion’s Comeback
So, 2025, huh? All my fellow Elder Scrolls fans are buzzing. Oblivion Remastered and this thing called Skyblivion are around the corner. Get ready for a total nerd-out year. Seriously though, Cyrodiil’s back on the map and if that doesn’t make your geek heart flutter, nothing will.
Skyblivion’s been cooking for ages—since 2012! That’s, like, ancient in game dev years. I stumbled on these comparison pics. They showed off how Skyblivion’s taking old Oblivion vibes and giving them a serious makeover. You know, those Ayleid ruins and all? Yeah, those. It’s like discovering a new color.
Now, here’s where it gets spicy. Oblivion Remastered and Skyblivion are both doing their thing in 2025, but they’re kinda like chalk and cheese. Oblivion Remastered? Trying to stick to the OG plan. Meanwhile, Skyblivion’s throwing the rulebook out the window, coming up with wild landscapes and revamped dungeons. Ever heard of Vilverin? Yeah, it’s gonna look insane.
Random moment: Saw some jaw-dropping 360 landscapes—the West Weald and all that. They got me. Why does digital nature sometimes look better than my own backyard? Anyway—wait—back on track.
Bethesda and the Skyblivion crew are more like frenemies than rivals. Bethesda’s like, “Hey, our remaster’s chill,” and Skyblivion’s all, “Watch this!” So, fans are eating it up because who wouldn’t want two snacks instead of one?
I’m half-wondering if Elder Scrolls 6 will crib notes from these projects. But whatever, one thing’s clear: Skyblivion’s twist on Skyrim’s combat has folks hyped for a new kind of Oblivion feel. Yes, please!
We got no exact dates yet, which is annoying. But Skyblivion’s set for 2025. Kinda feel like a kid waiting for a candy store to open, to be honest. Anyway, I think my tangent is up. Game on, fellow adventurers!
