Ah, Diablo 4—ever-changing, ever frustrating, sometimes exhilarating, right? So, Season 9, it’s called Sins of the Horadrim or something dramatic like that. And once again, all these classes get shiny new toys, like unique gear pieces. They come with like… unique abilities or whatever. It’s almost like these new items can make or break a character’s standing in the game’s meta—some thrive, some don’t. There’s one class that’s kinda been left in the dust this season, all thanks to an underwhelming new toy.
So, the Rogue and Barbarian classes? Hmm, not having the best time here, especially after some damage nerfs. Now, don’t get me wrong, there were some buffs in patch, ah, 2.3.1, I think? But the Rogue’s still feeling a bit meh. Two reasons: One, barbarians kinda got this solid boost from their new… let’s call it “fancy boots,” Hooves of the Mountain God. Meanwhile, the Rogue gets this Deathmask of Nirmitruq thing. Sounds neat, right? Sadly, it’s not moving any needles for them.
Okay, okay, let’s chat about these fancy Season 9 uniques for a sec. Six of them, right? Each class gets one. Varied reactions… some are thrilled, some—meh. Hooves of the Mountain God adds a snazzy touch for Barbarians. Druid gets some, like, mega mace called Rotting Lightbringer. Necromancers have The Hand of Naz, but why would you name gloves like that? Anyway, there’s also the Spiritborn’s Balazan’s Maxtlatl pants—winner right there! The Sorcerer’s got this Ophidian Iris amulet. Not a single snake in sight, just powerful vibes.
And then we got that Rogue helmet, Deathmask of Nirmitruq. Not the star of the class, sad to say. Rogues just aren’t making real use of it. It’s supposed to boost Flurry damage when you’re low on Energy, at some life cost. The value isn’t worth the risk, ya know? Looks like the better Rogue builds, they’re sticking with, ah, what’s that sword again? Oh, Azurewrath, that’s right. Sticking to those, with the trusty Heir of Perdition helm.
Season 9 needed something for Rogues, but mostly it’s just more of the same. Gotta wait for Season 10 for maybe better stuff, fingers crossed. It’s always next season, ain’t it?
