Battlegrounds Unveils 8th Anniversary Celebration Plans

PUBG: Battlegrounds is gearing up to celebrate its eighth birthday with an event packed with enticing rewards, including fresh skins and in-game currency, available for players on both PC and consoles. Ever since its 2017 debut, this game has attracted a massive following, securing its place as a global phenomenon.

As the pioneering battle royale title that paved the way for hits like Fortnite and Apex Legends, PUBG: Battlegrounds played a crucial role in the genre’s explosive growth. Over nearly a decade, it has built a loyal player base across platforms like PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile. Remarkably, even at eight years old, the game remains a lucrative venture for Krafton and consistently hits nearly a million daily players on Steam alone. To keep the excitement alive, the developers have unveiled an array of new content set to drop during this special anniversary event.

This celebration runs from March 12 to April 7 for PC players and from March 20 to April 15 for console gamers. Players can dive into the game via their Krafton ID and simply click “Join Event” to snag the 8th Anniversary Pack and Lucky G-Coin Box. Logging in from March 12 to March 25 on PC or March 20 to April 2 on consoles allows players to collect up to 350 Event Tokens, 200 G-Coins, 70 Contraband Coupons, a Hunter’s Chest, and a Key. Additionally, there are exclusive themed goodies up for grabs, including two distinct skins, a victory dance, a nameplate, and an emblem. The Token Shop also offers Orbital Vanguard skins, cool weapon camos, new victory dances, and more.

If you’re looking for more ways to score rewards, completing certain objectives during this anniversary event can yield Event Tokens, Contraband Coupons, and other items. Tasks might involve surviving for a set time or dealing damage to foes. Plus, the developers have teased the placement of hidden treasures on the iconic Erangel map, waiting for players to uncover.

In other news, Krafton is expanding the PUBG universe with a new spin-off called PUBG: Blindspot. Announced in February 2025, this tactical shooter is slated for a future release on PC, promising to bring fresh experiences to fans of the franchise.
