Alright, so picture this: we finally got the scoop on Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds. Capcom spilled the beans during their June Spotlight show, and let me tell you, it was a lot to take in. Why they chose now to drop all this info is beyond me, but hey, here we are.
First off, mark your calendars for June 30. That’s when this beast of an update is dropping. But, get this, it’ll kick off with a few hours of game downtime. No big surprises there, I guess.
Oh, and the new monsters! We’re talking about Lagiacrus and Seregios here. If you’re a fan, you know this is HUGE. Lagiacrus means underwater combat is back. Yeah, you heard me right. You’ll need to tackle this one post-main mission “A World Turned Upside Down” and side mission “Forest Doshaguma.” It’s your typical Hunter Rank 31 or more deal, which is kinda cool but also makes me wonder who decided on that number.
Seregios? Same story, same missions. But these guys also come with shiny new armor for you and your Palico. And just when you thought it couldn’t get better, there’s Tempered (8 Star) versions of them loafing around if you hit HR 41. Exciting? You bet.
And not to forget, there’s the Arch-tempered version of Uth Duna dropping at the end of July. This one’s for the hardcore folks at HR 50. Honestly, good luck with that.
Layered weapons are a thing now. Basically, it means pimping out your weapon without messing with its stats. Pretty nifty, but only if you craft the right ones.
Now, the juicy bits — small tweaks like swapping your handler from Alma to Erik, plus a new Sword & Shield support hunter. Because why not?
Don’t forget the Festival of Accord: Flamefete. Catchy name, huh? Runs from July 23 to August 6. Fancy armor, snazzy camp stuff, blah blah. Even some quirky eats at the cantina to chow down. Not sure who’s planning the menu, but it should rock.
Oh, and heads up, Title Update 3 is in the pipeline for September. New monster, new festival. Sounds like they’ve got big plans.
But here’s the kicker—Wilds isn’t exactly swimming in love right now. Player counts are crashing harder than a soda can under an elephant, and reviews… yeesh, they ain’t pretty. Can this update save face? No idea, but I guess we’ll see.
That’s the story, folks. Let’s hope Capcom pulls through, for their sake and ours.
