Kluge Interactive, known for the hit VR rhythm game Synth Riders, is gearing up to release their new VR fighting experience, FINAL FURY. This exciting title will be available in early access for Quest and SteamVR headsets starting next month.
Set to launch on May 8th for the Quest 2 and higher, as well as PC VR headsets, Final Fury offers a fresh take on arcade-style fighting games. It combines classic 1v1 battles with an innovative gesture-based gameplay system designed specifically for VR.
The development team collaborated with Justin Wong, a nine-time EVO champion, to craft this early access release. The game blends hand gestures with room-scale movement, allowing players to step into the shoes of six unique fighters. Each has their own special moves and arenas, with more characters and features promised in future updates.
“When Kluge Interactive approached me about FINAL FURY, I was intrigued by their vision of blending traditional fighting game elements with a first-person VR experience,” Wong explained. “I’ve been involved in fine-tuning aspects like dashes, grabs, and character styles, and I’m eager to see how players will engage when it hits Early Access.”
At launch, the game will offer several exciting features:
– Be the Fighter! – Dive into an immersive VR combat experience with real punches, dodges, and blocks.
– Innovative VR Combat – Experience classic fighting mechanics reimagined for a physical gameplay environment.
– Expanding Roster – Start with six fighters, each with unique abilities and arenas, and more to come.
– Arcade Mode Unlocks – Challenge the AI to unlock new fighters, stages, and cosmetic items.
– Online Multiplayer – Enjoy cross-platform competitive play with smooth performance through rollback netcode.
– Pulse-Pounding OST – Immerse yourself in an original soundtrack by Zardonic, known for work on SUPERHOT: MCD.
Final Fury will be available on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and above, and on Steam for PC VR headsets. It’s priced at $9.99, and you can wishlist it now ahead of its May 8th release.
