Or maybe not?
Imagine if the gods, those meddling Olympians who had his back, just bailed on him. Or even worse, what if he turned into this weird rage monster, just stuck in a loop, endlessly trying to leave but failing miserably? Ugh, sounds like a Greek tragedy (pun intended).

‘Course, Supergiant Games’ actual story for the sequel is pretty epic as is, but sometimes I like imagining what might have been.
