OneXPlayer has unveiled a teaser for their upcoming gaming handheld, the Onexfly F1 Pro, on YouTube. This device is set to be powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, part of the innovative Ryzen AI 300 lineup, also known as Strix Point. The Onexfly F1 Pro, a 7-inch device, impressively showcases its ability by running Black Myth: Wukong at 50 to 60 frames per second.
What sets this new gadget apart is its advanced HDR-supporting 7-inch OLED screen, capable of a remarkable 144 Hz refresh rate. Weighing in at 598 grams, it also boasts exceptional sound quality with Harman Kardon speakers. The heart of this device is the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU, which features four Zen 5 cores, eight Zen 5c cores, and the latest AMD Radeon 890M integrated graphics with 16 Compute Units based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture. With such impressive specifications, the Onexfly F1 Pro is set to compete with heavyweights like the Steam Deck OLED, ROG Ally X, and Lenovo Legion Go.
In their showcase, OneXPlayer demonstrated the device’s performance using the Black Myth: Wukong benchmark, set to 1080p and low-quality settings, with 65% upscaling resulting in a 1248 x 702 rendering resolution. Despite these settings, the handheld, equipped with the AI 9 HX 370, achieved an average of 58 frames per second while limiting power consumption to a mere 15W.
This release marks OneXPlayer’s first entry into devices pairing an OLED display with AMD’s cutting-edge Zen 5-based mobile CPUs. Previously, their products utilized older Intel or AMD processors alongside non-OLED displays. It’s also one of the pioneering handheld devices powered by Zen 5, alongside the GPT Pocket 4, which is another gadget featuring the Ryzen AI HX 370.
While the Pocket 4 serves as a versatile 2-in-1 device with a keyboard and a screen capable of rotating 180 degrees, the F1 Pro is a dedicated handheld with conventional grips and controls. OneXPlayer’s teaser provides a glimpse into how the AI 9 HX 370 truly shines in handheld formats, proving capable of running demanding AAA games at a power-efficient 15W TDP for longer battery life. As AMD has yet to release its new Z-series CPUs designed specifically for handhelds, manufacturers are currently maximizing the potential of AMD’s Ryzen AI 300 series, originally intended for laptops.
