The guy who wrote Star Trek Beyond in 2016, Doug Jung, yeah, he’s diving into the Mass Effect TV show. Like, seriously, who saw this coming? But here we are.
So, Deadline was all like, “Hey, this Hollywood dude is gonna write the series and run the show.” And I’m just sitting here thinking, that’s a lot on one plate. Oh, he also wrote The Cloverfield Paradox (2018) — not that I remember much about it. Plus, he’s done a couple episodes of that wild Netflix crime show Mindhunter. And then there’s more. He writes and produces some Apple+ war show, Chief of War or something. Seriously, does this guy sleep?
Anyway — wait, right, where was I? Ah, he’s teaming up with writer Dan Casey and Michael Gamble from Electronic Arts. Talk about a power trio. I mean, hopefully, they don’t all start talking at once. Could you imagine?
Amazon gave the green light for the Mass Effect show back in November 2024. No clue when it’ll actually hit, though. I remember when they released the Fallout show, and people were like, “This is amazing!” So, no pressure, Mass Effect.
Oh, and Fallout’s dropping a second season later this year. More binge-watching for fans. So there’s that.
