You know what’s wild? It feels like I blinked and poof—Activision’s all quiet about Black Ops 7, this year’s Call of Duty. Last time they chatted about it, it was June, and we got this teensy trailer at the Xbox Showcase. Then… nothing. Zip. Nada.
They said more info was coming this summer, right? But who even knows what they mean by "summer" these days. I mean, I expected fireworks and confetti. Shrugs.
So, here we are, smack in the middle of July, and I’m thinking, "Uh, hey Activision? Where’s the deets?" Finally, they spill the beans—August. Mark it down, because gamescom Opening Night Live is when we’ll see Black Ops 7 again. Mark your calendars, folks! Tuesday, August something or other. I can’t remember, but it’ll be a show with all the bells and whistles. Starts at 11am PT, and you can do the time zone math from there.
What’s curious is how CoD games usually get the red carpet treatment with their own fancy events. So, same spiel or something bigger later? Guess we’ll have to wait and see. August 19 could surprise us, or maybe we sit tight for more action in September. Time’s a funny thing, isn’t it?
Black Ops 7’s got fans buzzing—returning to the near-future? Check. Co-op campaign? Double-check. And folks are holding out for some kind of connection from Black Ops 6 to this new one. Continuity in gaming is a thing now, didn’t you know?
Oh, and before I meander off, it’s supposed to drop in November. Platform overload: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S. Ready your consoles (or keyboards), because it’s gonna be a ride.
