Preorders for Switch 2 Available in North America Starting April 24th

As soon as Nintendo announced the release date for the Switch 2, things got a bit rocky. Preorders in the U.S. and Canada hit a snag because of tariff issues tied to policies from Donald Trump’s administration. But after some back and forth, Trump delayed those tariffs beyond the Switch 2’s launch. Now, Nintendo has finally shared when folks in North America can jump into the preorder frenzy, hopefully ahead of the scalpers.

Mark your calendars for April 24, 2025, because that’s when preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 are set to kick off. The great news is, the price tags are staying put: you can snag a Switch 2 for $449.99, or opt for the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle for $499.99.

And don’t worry, game prices are holding steady too. Whether you’re picking up a physical or digital copy, Mario Kart World will run you $79.99, while Donkey Kong Bananza is priced at $69.99 at launch.

But hold on, there’s a catch. Accessories for the Nintendo Switch 2 will see price adjustments from what was announced on April 2nd. This change is attributed to shifting market dynamics.
