So, you know how the PlayStation Store is always throwing these sales at us? Yeah, it’s one of those times again. I stumbled on this massive discount for a game you might’ve heard about. Ever imagined playing an open-world game that’s basically a steal right now? Yeah, me neither — until now.
Mafia: Definitive Edition is Ridiculously Cheap on PS Store
So, Mafia: Definitive Edition — yeah, the one where you’re thrown into the gritty world of organized crime, or whatever — is like 85% off. Seriously, it’s only $5.99 instead of the usual $39.99. Not sure why I mentioned that, but if this thing sounds like your jam, don’t sleep on it. It’s like one of those “blink and you’ll miss it” deals, ending on May 13 at 2:59 a.m. ET for reasons probably best known to them.
Imagine being Tommy Angelo. Just a cabbie hustling in Lost Heaven back in the 1930s, and then bam! The Mafia wants you. Wild, right? This game takes you from taxi-driving to crime-doing in no time. It’s all very “who can you actually trust?” and guns and glamour — real cinematic stuff.
Oh, and if you’re all in on this Mafia thing, there’s a whole trilogy up for grabs too. Weirdly just $11.99, so you get two more games. Seems like a no-brainer, but hey, I’m not you.
Now, the game hit the shelves in 2020 and people didn’t hate it, which is always a good sign. Metacritic — ever heard of them? — gave it a 78, out of what I assume is 100. It’s basically a spruced-up version of the 2002 original by Illusion Softworks. Nostalgia trip, anyone?
And if you’re the kind that likes to stay ahead, there’s a new kid on the block soon. Mafia: The Old Country drops on August 7 for PS5. And, plot twist, it’s bucking the whole “let’s make everything ridiculously expensive” trend by only being $49.99.
Anyway, I’m just saying, this could be the moment to jump into the Mafia madness. Who knows, maybe you’ll like it. Or maybe you’ll just blame me for bad life choices. Both are real possibilities.
