Cat From Hell – Cat Simulator from Upscale Studios is this quirky, Christmas-themed game, right? I thought I’d be laughing — I love a good feline mess, but nope, didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Let me tell you why this kitty chaos went purrfectly wrong.
So, the idea’s simple. You’re another cat in grandma’s house, and boy, you’re about to wreak havoc. Smash vases, slice curtains to shreds, cause all the ruckus — it’s feline anarchy. But here’s the kicker: you’ve gotta sneakily pin all this chaos on some other cat Santa dropped off. Sounds like a laugh riot, but…
Alright, picture this: you’ve got Grandma doing her rounds like a hawk. It’s like, break one teensy glass and bam — she’s on you! She’s super buggy too; half the time she’s stuck behind a chair doing a weird shuffle, and you’re just watching with popcorn at this point, or whatever cats eat. Seriously, she should take a break.
You’re supposed to stage these little “cat crimes.” Time them right, frame the other furball, and hope Grandma buys it. Easier said than done. Sometimes, you nailed the crime scene, but — poof! — no blame on Mr. Whiskers. Or worse, blame’s all wrong. Once I somehow “won” ‘cause the other cat got itself stuck — kind of like those videos where pets get caught in blinds. Ever seen one? Hilarious!
Can we talk graphics? Oh jeez. Feels like we’re playing on an old PlayStation 2, pixels and all. I’m no graphics snob, but when your paws look like square mittens, it’s… distracting. And sound? Well, ever heard a track played one too many times at Christmas? Yup, that’s this game’s audio.
There’s no shiny Platinum trophy — bummer, man. You do get some trophies for causing chaos, though. If you’re just here for the achievements, maybe it scratches that itch.
Honestly, I wanted a festive feline fiesta, but I was left with… this. Might’ve been fun if it actually worked right. Just not quite worth the $4.99 on your shiny PlayStation 5 if you ask me. Feels more like a glitch fest than a game. Anyway, if curiosity gets the best of ya, there’s a sandbox mode. Play around a bit, see if it clicks.
So yeah, there it is. Cat From Hell — came with hopes, left me hoping for something else. Maybe next time, Upscale!
