Hey, so XR Games just dropped some big news today. BEATABLE, that rhythm game where you’re basically just banging your desk to music—yup, that’s a thing—is out of early access on Quest. And, you guessed it, there’s a whole bunch of new stuff to play around with now.
I mean, using your table as a VR gadget? It’s kinda wild, right? No controllers needed. Just your Quest 2 or whatever, and you’re off hitting notes and clapping at invisible symbols like you’re summoning a ghost band.
So, along with this early access exit—yawn, I know—they’ve also packed in a fresh update. There was this first batch of five songs they tossed out in April. And now? It’s bigger. Got a new update crashing in like an uninvited party guest.
There’s a picture somewhere (I saw it but dunno where it went…), showing this off. Anyway, the game’s added this custom song editor. You can basically be your own DJ, I guess, or challenge your friend who’s convinced they’re the next big thing.
Here’s the juicy bit: 24 songs in total now. Twelve were during early access, so that’s double for you math folks. Spotify’s got the playlist if you want a taste of what you’ll be nodding your head to. There’s some anime anthem by Kudo Haruka and a big track from Mikee Goodman—someone from the band SikTh, if that rings a bell.
Back when we gave the early version a go in April (yeah, I remember), precision was like trying to catch a greased pig. But now, they’ve got an updated gesture system or something. They say it’s so you “stay on the beat, every beat.” Sounds like they mean business. And visuals? Apparently snazzier now. More feedback too, so you know if you’re smashing it or just smashing furniture.
Oh, and if you’re hunting for it, Beatable’s chillin’ on the Horizon Store for Quest 2. Pick it up for $10 if that’s your kind of jam.
So that’s the scoop. Ready to whack some virtual stuff now?
