Sure thing, let’s dive in. So, get this—Steam’s got this wild deal going on right now. You know, one of those things where you think, “Is there a catch?” Nope, not this time. Anyway, they’re giving away Ultimate Zombie Defense. Yeah, for real. Add it to your collection, and voila, yours forever. Feels like they’re practically begging fans to dive in. No idea why I’m so jazzed about it, but hey, free is free, right?
Zombie games. Man, they’re popping back like dandelions. You’d think they’d fade, yet here we are. Remember Resident Evil? Still cranking those out. And holy moly, Dead Island 2, finally here in ’23 (thought it’d never see daylight) and something about Dead Rising getting a shiny remaster, plus COD: Black Ops 6 dragged those gnarly Zombies back from their grave. So, yeah, Ultimate Zombie Defense, kind of a gem to snag without the wait.
But I digress—Ultimate Zombie Defense. Ever heard of it? Four-player co-op, survival horror (buzzwords, I know), from way back in 2020. Set in this creepy city, cut off and swamped with the undead. You and your pals are military hotshots tasked with figuring out what the heck went wrong. Oh, and Terror Dog Studio knocked it outta the park – people on Steam love it. Till July 15th at 10 am—jot that down and save that notification.
Now, you’re probably asking, “What makes this game tick?” Glad you asked! Bunch of unique characters, eight I think, each with their skill tree as you grind through the mess. Not just your garden-variety zombies, either—12 freaky types. And those slo-mo kills? Think Fallout 4, but nastier, and base building, too. Sound fun?
And not to sound like a salesperson, but don’t sweat if your rig isn’t top-notch. It’s kinda, sorta okay on a GTX 1050 with 4GB RAM. Fine print says it’s “Playable” on Steam Deck (not my words), so maybe stick to the home setup for the best screams and growls.
So go grab it. I mean, once in your library, it’s yours. Like, forever. And if you’re like me and just hoard these free goodies, well, join the club. Even if it ends up like my laundry (forgotten), it’s still free! Maybe you’ll even want to check out its sequel after having a blast with this one. Cool, right?
