I want to talk about a game called Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector. Yeah, it’s a sequel, and it’s got that whole cyberpunk vibe going on. Now, I’m not gonna pretend I’m the biggest gamer in the world, but something about this game just grabbed me. Maybe it’s the whole “you’re a human mind in a robot body” thing? It’s like, “Hey, cool, I’m a robo-person trying to break free from some evil corporation and a weird gang.” Sounds just like my life… or not.
Anyway, the game’s got you running around building alliances and making enemies. You’re the captain—or maybe you’re just pretending—of some ship while dodging whoever’s trying to own you. There’s no memory of the past — classic, right? I guess it spices things up. I tried it on PS5 (yep, feeling fancy), and even though it continues a story, you don’t need the first one. But that doesn’t mean I won’t get totally lost in the narrative.
Oh, and let’s not forget the classes. You choose between things like Operators, Extractors, and Machinists. Each with their own trick up their metal sleeves. Operators are all about tech stuff, Extractors get their hands dirty in extreme conditions, and Machinists, well, they’re the fixers of the bunch. Some configurations here, dice there, some stress everywhere. Then there’s the difficulty levels—Safe, Risky, or Dangerous. I wonder if anyone ever starts on Dangerous. Sounds intense, right?
Rolling dice is like second nature here. Every choice you make feels like you’re at a casino table, except your life depends on it—or your character’s life. Same difference. Stress kicks in if you mess up, which could totally ruin your dice. And if I remember right, a glitched dice has this wild chance of giving you either the best or worst result. It’s a gamble within a gamble.
Then there’s upgrading stuff. Love or hate it, you gotta do it if you want to survive. The upgrades happen with these Drive things. Going minor or major affects how many points you get, and those points are like gold coins to level up your skills. I didn’t get too deep into this, but hey, at least the option is there.
Trophy hunters, listen up—yeah, I’m looking at you. The game’s packed with them, from bronze to platinum, and some involve making choices or just rolling the right dice. It might take some serious dedication, especially the ones where glitches actually do you a favor.
So, totally unrelated side note: Was I the only one who had flashbacks of Cowboy Bebop or Firefly while playing? Something about the space cowboy crew just hit home. But maybe I’m just seeing things. Anyway, it’s $24.99 to jump into this world on PS5. Or shell out more for a combo pack if you’re feeling spendy.
If you love cyber stuff and a narrative that’s more twisty than my morning coffee pour, give it a go. Plus, space is calling and all that.
And yeah, if I forgot something, blame it on my coffee high. This version’s based on a copy sent my way—thanks, Fellow Traveler! Okay, think I’m done rambling now.
