In an exciting development for Xbox Insiders, streaming your own games on console via Xbox Cloud Gaming just got a whole lot easier. Alongside a selection of the best Game Pass titles, this update allows players who subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to stream certain games on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, though the list of compatible titles hasn’t expanded just yet.
Microsoft has been relentless in its pursuit to enhance Xbox Cloud Gaming for its Insiders. This latest improvement has been rolled out to those in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha preview rings. As detailed in a recent Xbox Wire post, these Insiders can now enjoy streaming on consoles, PCs, smartphones, and tablets in over 28 countries worldwide. The catch? You’ll need to have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership to get in on the action.
Originally, we weren’t expecting console streaming to arrive until next year, so this update is a pleasant surprise for testers. If you’re checking out this feature, you’ll notice a cloud gaming badge appears on supported titles within your Xbox console library. You can even sort your library with filters like “Ready to play” and “Cloud gaming” to find those compatible games more easily.
In Microsoft’s own words, “Support for launching directly from the Store app and streaming in the Xbox app on Windows PC will be coming in the future.” Last month, when this feature first became available, Game Pass Ultimate members found they could stream some owned games through web browsers, with 50 games available at launch. These include major titles like Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
We’re eagerly anticipating when this feature will be offered to all players—hopefully by 2025. What about you? Are you excited about streaming your favorite Xbox Series X|S games through Xbox Cloud Gaming? Feel free to share your thoughts below!
