nDreams Co-Founder Patrick O’Luanaigh Resigns as CEO

So, picture this: it’s June 1st, and Patrick O’Luanaigh — you might recognize him if VR is your thing — is stepping down from the big boss chair at NDreams. Yup, he’s off to be the chairperson, whatever that means. Meanwhile, Tom Gillo, who’s been with NDreams forever (well, at least since the days of PlayStation Home. Remember that?), is sliding into the CEO spot.

It’s wild to think about where NDreams started. Like, Patrick and Tamsin O’Luanaigh, they just rented this dinky office back in 2006, and boom, they’re launching into VR. I mean, it’s kinda crazy how things go, right? Patrick’s all proud — rightfully so, I guess — about what they’ve built. Even he admits the VR world is still just a baby, which is exciting, if you think about it. New toys to play with, new problems to solve.

And Tom’s pretty pumped too. Seems like he’s got this deep connection with Patrick. You ever have those times when your work buddy just becomes part of your life, kinda like furniture but in a good way? Anyway, Tom’s saying it’s a big honor and all that, with this whole Aonic backing them up now. So yeah, big shoes to fill, if you’re into clichés.

Oh, and about Aonic buying them for, like, $110 million last year? Apparently, they had to cut 17.5% of the staff not too long after. Just business stuff, I guess. But sometimes, these numbers, they make you wonder about what’s really happening behind those closed doors, right?
