World of Warcraft just dropped patch 11.1.7—yeah, I know, it feels like they’re always updating something—but everyone’s buzzing about the next one, 11.2, on the PTR. It’s like, the ultimate teaser for what’s coming next in Midnight, the new expansion. Can’t say I hate it. Anyway, the big thing is this raid, Manaforge Omega. Players will face off against Dimensius the All-Devouring. Sounds dramatic, right? Also, there’s talk of some “impossible” character. No clue what that means, but I guess we’ll find out.
So, Ghosts of K’aresh, that’s gonna be huge. It’s kicking off Season 3 for The War Within. New tier sets, mounts, and even an entire location. Oh, and it takes you to the Ethereals’ homeworld. Dimensius as the baddie means everything’s got a Void vibe. Inside the raid, there’s this battle with Soul Hunters—three Demon Hunters, each with a different focus: Havoc, Vengeance, and Void. Gotta admit, the Void part makes my Spidey senses tingle.
And here’s the kicker: Demon Hunters might—MIGHT—be getting a third spec. Players have wanted this forever. There’s this juicy promo featuring the Void Demon Hunter. Dataminers grabbed an icon of the Metamorphosis skill showing a demon hand with Void energy, titled “ability_demonhunter_metamorphasisvoid”—yeah, nailed that name, Blizzard. Plus, there’s a model for a Void Demon Hunter.
Seems excessive if it ain’t for the players, right? Reminds me of when they added the Augmentation Evoker in the middle of an update. No playable third Demon Hunter spec on the 11.2 PTR yet, but maybe by 11.2.5? Fingers crossed.
But hey, what if the Void Demon Hunter never launches with 11.2 or its updates? Could just be bait for Midnight. Remember when the Evoker dropped with two specs and got a third later? I wouldn’t be shocked if a new class ends up being a spec. Maybe right after 11.2 hits? We gotta wait and see. But that Void spec seems more probable each day.
Oh, and if they release the Void spec in August, it could perfectly align with the Midnight reveal at Gamescom at the end of the month. Coincidence? I doubt it. We’ll see.
