Tango Gameworks, the Japanese developer behind 2023’s captivating game “Hi-Fi Rush,” is hinting at the possibility of a sequel. During an interview with IGN, studio head Colin Mack expressed that while a follow-up is on their radar, they haven’t committed to any concrete plans just yet.
“We’re looking at the sequel option quite favorably,” Mack shared with IGN. “However, we’re not at the point where we can definitively say, ‘Here’s what we’re going to create next.'”
Adding to the conversation, “Hi-Fi Rush” director John Johanas revealed, “There’s a lot of fondness for Hi-Fi Rush among our team, which certainly gives us some possibilities. Right now, we’re exploring several avenues.”
In addition, project manager Kazuaki Egashira highlighted Tango Gameworks’ signature drive to innovate and provide fresh experiences. “Hi-Fi Rush resonated as a new IP, but if it remains static, it risks becoming outdated,” Egashira pointed out.
“Tango Gameworks thrives on embracing new challenges. My hope is that we continue to prioritize our developers while maintaining our enthusiasm for game creation,” they concluded.
