Okay, so last week—wait, or was it earlier?—we asked folks to share game pics where characters’ faces really did the talking, you know? Anyway, they came through with some gems, and here’s some of what popped up:

First up, I stumbled on this pic from MrioMoreno5. Ellie’s expression in “The Last of Us Part II” just lights up. Like, literally sparkles. I swear I felt warmer looking at it. Maybe it was the coffee buzzing inside me. Who knows.

Then there’s Couch_Gamer2k23’s shot of Maelle from “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.” Her face says it all—apprehensive. Like, did I leave the stove on? Or maybe something deeper. I kinda relate; I get that look when I see my laundry pile.

EmperorHal grabbed a shot of Deacon in “Days Gone Remastered,” grimacing with a weapon in his hand. It’s intense. Like, he could either be about to save the day or just stubbed his toe. Weapons and stubbed toes shouldn’t mix, but hey, life’s weird.

Over in Final Fantasy land, xirantics shows us Cait Sith with this cheeky grin in “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.” The kind of grin when you know you’re getting away with something. Or maybe it was something they ate. Either way, it’s classic.

Now, check out player1pov’s capture of Raven in “Stellar Blade.” Fierce isn’t even the word. It’s like she’s ready to tackle a dragon or just heard her favorite song on the radio. Those little unexpected joys, right?

RhodWulfLeon chipped in with a wistful Aloy lounging in the grass in “Horizon Forbidden West.” Her expression? Like she’s pondering the universe or, you know, just chilling. I sit like that post-lunch, so… vibe.
