Yuji Horii’s knack—and maybe love—for spilling the beans is something else, isn’t it?
So, picture this: we’re at some comic con in Napoli, Italy. A chilled-out scene, lots of chatter, and there he is, Yuji Horii himself. Yeah, the Dragon Quest dude. He’s on a panel, doing his thing, when suddenly—bam!—out comes a hint about a Chrono Trigger remake. Totally casual, right? Now, was it a slip? A grand plan to get everybody buzzing? Who knows. But when the host tried to dig deeper, Horii just did this classic move—hand over mouth—and his translator goes, “You heard nothing.” Cue the crowd going wild. It was like one of those rock concert moments, but, you know, nerdier.
Now, Horii isn’t new to this leaking business. Oh no, back in 2015, he casually confirmed some localizations for Dragon Quest VII and VIII—stuff the fans were desperately hoping for—and even spilled that Dragon Quest XI was coming to the “NX.” Yeah, before we knew it as the Switch. The guy just can’t help himself.
And yeah, March 11 marked 30 years since Chrono Trigger hit Japan. Square Enix has been all mysterious about what they’re cooking up for the anniversary, dropping hints but nothing solid.
Maybe we’re in for a wild ride—or, well, maybe Horii just overshared. Anyway—wait, where was I going with this? Oh, right. Here’s hoping for more of that chaotic energy from Horii!
