Alright, picture this: Silent Hill 2 Remake, right? Blew my mind. Like, seriously, I was thinking it’d be meh, but nope. Konami, those sly folks, just told us they’re teaming up with Bloober Team again to tackle the original Silent Hill from ’99. No release date yet. Just a big ol’ “it’s happening” vibe.
And can we talk about Bloober for a sec? After their work on Silent Hill 2, it was kinda obvious they’d come back, right? I mean, people (yup, me included) had this gut feeling they’d tackle Silent Hill 1 and maybe even 3. It was like “duh!” for anyone paying attention. They nailed SH2, so it makes sense Konami’s giving them another go at this eerie series.
So here we go again, back to that foggy, creepy town. Now, instead of James Sunderland’s messed-up saga with his wife, we get Harry Mason. This guy? Single dad mode, taking his adopted daughter on a vacay to clear their heads after his wife’s passing. Sounds vaguely familiar, huh? Trust me, there’s more. Hold on.
On their way, BAM — car crash. Harry wakes up, daughter’s gone. Just vanished. Cue the hunt through Silent Hill’s weirdness and monsters. Yeah, it kinda echoes SH2, but there’s this whole level of depth here about Harry that I’m not gonna spoil for the newcomers.
Bloober’s gotta be feeling the heat on this one. They’ve got a lot riding on remaking another SH game. But hey, after their last masterpiece, my expectations are sky-high. But what’s your take on it?
