Oh man, I don’t know why, but that image just took me back to those chaotic Saturday mornings where I used to game till my eyes blurred. Anyway, hold on, we’re diving into some exciting news—I think, yeah, it’s about Theia Games and their VR escapades. STARVAULT is their latest baby, and it’s now running wild in open beta on Quest. You know, classic MOBA-style but with a VR twist which, hilariously enough, kind of feels like trying to play Halo while standing on a skateboard.
Picture this: you’ve got these big 5v5 brawls, yeah? And you’ve got nine heroes to pick from. Each one is their own kind of weird, with funky weapons and skills. The whole shebang is about lane pushing, tower smashing, and turning enemy spots into your own party zones to take over the map. I guess it’s kind of like chess if chess included exploding pawns and teleportation. Or maybe it’s nothing like chess—I’m already wandering off here.
Oh, and the creeps. You’ll be farming those little beasts, clearing out camps, and then bam! You’re tearing the enemy’s Energy Core apart. It’s all for XP and creds so you can deck out your hero, like dressing a puppy in armor—just makes sense, right?
They tossed in a first-person shooter vibe too, like Halo but with more dizziness involved. There are portals and jump pads. Could be a bit like hopping through a sci-fi trampoline park.
Right, so Theia Games said, and I might be paraphrasing here, “Hey, it’s pretty early in development but it’s free for now. No microtransactions, promise!” Although that might change when they hit Early Access in Summer 2025. More heroes, slick mechanics, and—what’s the word?—balance. Or so they say.
Monetization is gonna be like your cereal’s prize back in the day—just cosmetic. Skins, battle passes, shiny stuff. No pay-to-win nonsense. Which is kind of refreshing, honestly.
And hey, they’re aiming for a big debut in early 2026. More heroes, more modes, more of everything, really. Sounding ambitious, like trying to build a rocket out of Legos. After launch, they’re planning updates with new goodies—because who doesn’t love fresh content?
Anyway, the endgame dream? A full-blown VR esport. Who would’ve thought? You can check out STARVAULT now on Quest 2—give it a spin if you’re curious. Or don’t—it’s all good either way.
Did I mention it’s free during this phase? Maybe I did. Can’t hurt to repeat—free’s always a good word.
